Three junior ACA athletes were among the stars of the inaugural North Island Interprovincial 14-17 Competition held at Waitakere on Saturday.
Joshua Hawkins wons the Boys 15 20om in 23.14s and the 100m hurdles in 14.16s, and in the same grade Harry Wilde clocked a fast 51.99s in the 400m. In the field events Ross Walker-Smart threw 40.02m in the the Boys 16 javelin and won the high jump with a clearance of 1.93m.
Meanwhile, in Tauranga, Michael Banks clocked 9m 24.1s in the 3000m; and a fine result from Saturday 16 January at Sovereign Stadium, North Shore: Lydia O’Donnell maintained her excellent summer form to win the W19 1500m in 4m 30.10s.
