ACA's crack young sprinter Isaac Tatoa was the star of the Track & Field Hotmeet at Mt Smart on Saturday 6 March, breaking not one, not two, but three Auckland records.
First up, he broke his own M19 60m record with a time of 6.79s, bettering his previous mark of 6.84s set in March 2009. This new time also broke the Senior Men's Auckland record of 6.80s set by Simon Potter in 2002.
To cap an already terrific day's work, Isaac broke Ben Potter's 13-year-old Auckland M19 100m record with a time 10.59s. (Simon and Ben's mother Sue Potter is our wonderful uniform manager, responsible for ACA uniform orders & sales, and also regularly seen recording results at T&F meets through the summer.)
Isaac wasn't the only ACA athlete in top form on Saturday. Campbell Wu ran 54.33s in the 400 metre hurdles, the best performance in New Zealand this season by a 16 -year-old boy.
Isaac & Campbell are both coached by ACA's Paul & Jan Lothian - great work all round!
Night owls among us may have seen Paul & Isaac interviewed on the Olympic Show: All in the Games which screened on SKY Sport last Thursday 4 March at 11.30 pm.
