ACA's opening Club Day for the 2010 Winter Season attracted a very large number of members & families, young & a little older, new & returning, to Cornwall Park for our famous annual Cream Bun Fun Run.

ACA holds its summer Track & Field Club Nights at Mt Smart Stadium, Auckland, every Wednesday evening from 6.00 pm. It's well-organised but relaxed, serious but fun, and always, there's a warm welcome for new athletes.

A large team of ACA athletes, assisted by some parents, manned a drink station at the adidas Auckland Marathon on Sunday 1 November.

ACA member Elizabeth (Lizzie) Orchard competed in the Xterra World Championship in Hawaii on Sunday 25 October, and it's no surprise to us that her result was outstanding.

A large turnout of members, family & friends attended the 2009 Annual General Meeting and celebrated our Winter Season prizewinners at the John Walker Lounge, Mt Smart.

ACA's four teams "did us proud" with excellent performances at the 2009 NZ Road Relay Championships in Christchurch, including gold medals for our Junior Men's & Junior Women's teams. Thanks to Phil Morreau & Greg Banks for these post-race pics.

Our final club day of the 2009 winter season was held in perfect conditions at Cornwall Park. Popular with runners and spectators, the Ian Hay Memorial is an opportunity for pairs of junior and senior members to run together under handicap conditions, while the Bull & Cow Race rewards those who run the quickest times. Plenty of chat & laughter completed another great winter season for ACA.

The Auckland Cross Country Championships were held on the testing Pukekohe Showgrounds course in fine and relatively warm weather, with blue ACA singlets prominent in every event - as you can see from the large number of photos. (And there are more to come!)

The North Harbour Cross Country is the fourth Grand Prix race of the season and attracted a good turnout of ACA athletes who enjoyed one of the regions fastest courses, and weather that steadily improved during the afternoon.

The first Athletics Auckland event held at Sir Barry Curtis Park, East Tamaki, began under clear sunny skies after morning rain that made the course a good test of runners' fitness. More rain arrived in mid-afternoon, but it didn't diminish the enthusiasm or the performances posted by ACA's excellent representation in every grade.

A total of 83 runners lined up to challenge the Mountain - aka One Tree Hill - on our second ACA club day for the 2009 winter season. They were all rewarded at the top with stunning views of Auckland (& lollipops), followed by a hearty afternoon tea & BBQ back in the Cornwall Clubrooms.

The second Grand Prix race of the 2009 Winter Season was held on a cool but cloudless, sunny day in Pakuranga. ACA was once again represented by a large number of runners and recorded many successes across all grades.

Sunny blue skies, soft ground, and the splendour of Auckland's Cornwall Park: what better combination for the annual ACA Pairs Race! Two and four person teams competed on the slopes of the Park's famous One Tree Hill.

ACA 2008-09 Track & Field prizes were presented by Rob Matthews, MBE, an international blind running champion. Rob is now resident in New Zealand, but while representing the United Kingdom, he held 22 world records and won 29 international Gold medals.

The opening Grand Prix race of the 2009 winter season was held on a cool, sunny day in Pukekohe on Saturday 9 May. Despite considerable rain earlier in the week, the ground was in good condition. It was just great to see the large number of blue singlet-wearing ACA runners in the turnout for the event!

The first ACA club day of the 2009 winter season attracted a great turnout of members, parents and supporters who were welcomed by club President Richard Adams and enjoyed our traditional fun run, followed by delicious cream buns all round.
