What's On for the summer Season
The Summer Track and Field season runs from October to April. There are a wide range of events at national, regional, club and schools levels that cater for participants of all ages and abilities. Check out some of the options below and see the Athletics Auckland event calendar
Club nIGHTs
ACA Runs a club night on Wednesdays, 6:00pm at Mt Smart Track in Penrose throughout the summer season. This involves a series of timed events from the 60m sprint to 5000m on the track depending on demand. The 2026/2027 schedule will be released shortly. ACA RACE NIGHTS - fAST & fURIOUS uNDER lIGHTS
For the 2026/2027 over summer there will be four ACA Race Nights - Fast and Furious under lights. Dates with be announced shortly. Please see for more information ACA Race Nights - Fast & Furious Under Lights
The McKinnon SHIELD
Athletics Auckland run a series of meets throughout the summer called the McKinnon Shield. They also run Auckland Championships and have an excellent calendar of most events happening in the region. Please see Athletics Auckland calendar for details.
NATIONALS
Athletics New Zealand are responsible for all national events. These are hosted all over the country for the different age grades, and events. Please see the Athletics NZ Event Calendar for details.
